Friends (you know who you are!) often give me cash and say, “Use it where you need it most,” meaning use it for the needy Shan children our charity supports. I save that cash throughout the year and in the fall or early winter we use it to help keep the children warm. This year we had $250.00. I sent the money to our teachers to buy blankets for children who live in a hilly agricultural area in northern Thailand. This year they found twin size blankets (the children are small!) and paid about $2.50 U.S. each for them. Board member, Yvonne Garcia, was in Thailand to help facilitate the event.
